After School – Middle School

Manhattan Youth provides a comprehensive menu of activities for students of all interests and grades at Quest to Learn Middle School. Funded through the Dept. of Youth and Community Development, after school programs are free of charge for families. This year, we’re happy to welcome back popular activities like Theater, Volleyball, and LEGO Robotics, along with some new offerings like Glee Club, Building Beats, and Community Service.

After school activities run in two sessions: 3:15 – 4:30pm and 4:30 – 5:45pm. Students meet in the cafeteria for snack and check-in immediately after school, at 2:50pm. The after school program operates on a trimester calendar.

This year, fall activities will run from September 10–November 13; winter activities will run from November 16–March 11; and spring activities run from March 14–June 27.

After School – Upper School

Quest to Learn has a partnership with Hudson Sailing. Students must enroll in 9th grade, and they are part of the Sail Academy, in which they increase proficiency in math by learning basic sailing, navigation, and boat building. Through this opportunity they earn a math and PE credit. Upon successful completion, they go to First Mate: ongoing mentoring, competitive racing, college entrance preparation, homework support, summer employment assistance, and career discovery.

Quest to Learn also has a partnership with the Arthur Miller Foundation: Students work and learn side by side with teaching artists from theater and film. They write and produce original pieces which are showcased twice a year in a student led production.
