Q2L’s First Graduating Class Scholarships

April 11, 2016 Connor Smith Events Gallery, Q2L at Large

Quest to Learn’s first high school graduation is a mere two and a half months away on June 28th. Schools give awards to their top students prior to graduation. Most of these awards come with some scholarship money for the graduates to use towards college or trade schools.

Scholarship funds typically come from alumni or community groups. Since Q2L does not yet have any alumni, we are reaching out to you to raise at least $1000 so we can give out Ten $100 scholarships as part of the awards ceremony. So far we have raised $540!

The scholarship recipients will be determined by the 12th grade teachers in cooperation with the administration. The awards are likely to be for the following: Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Film and Theater, Physical Education, Scholar-Athlete, Leadership, and Most Improved Student.
Please contribute as little or as much as you can – $10, $25, $50 – no sum is too small. Your contribution to the Q2L Scholarship Fund is tax deductible and will go a long way in helping us set up the Q2L Scholarship Fund. And please notify friends, family, co-workers, community groups or anyone else you think can contribute.

Also, checks can be made out to “Q2L PTA” and given to Kathy in Room 712 or mailed to Q2L PTA, 351 West 18th Street, Room 712, New York, NY 10011. Please write “12th Grade Scholarship Fund” in the memo field of your check. Please feel free to contact Jen, Erica or Tamara if you have any questions.
